Our spiritual heritage and new world poverties remind us that we are continually invited to work for justice and equality for all:
From where we stand in a global village over 200 years after the foundation of our Institute, we see Magdalen as a person with a high level of social awareness by the way she addressed the poverty of her time.
Today our world faces crises which give rise to new human insecurities and invite the whole Canossian family to a new consciousness and sense of urgency to respond to the challenges of these world realities by addressing the very causes of poverty and embracing the principles of Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation. We aim to do this by living, promoting and witnessing to an alternative culture which will bring about the Reign of God – a reign of peace, justice and love.(from “JPIC – Canossian Basic Guidelines p.3)
